The Lasqueti Arts Festival unfolds on the weekend of July 5-6, 2024

Visual art to be hung on Thursday July 4th. Please contact Jen Brant to reserve space on the panels. Art sales happen at the festival from 2-6 pm on Saturday. Tarps set up a few days before. Contact Ian Giles to be part of the team.

The festival officially begins with the Friday night Writers Reading at 7pm at the Community Hall. The list of readers is already full and promises to delight and move the listeners. There will be newbies as well as the seasoned voices. Entry by donation. Desserts, wine and special coffees will be served. If you want to make a dessert, get in touch with


Gates to the Saturday event open at 2 pm. $15 entry fee (plus $5 if you want to buy an arts council membership). Kids 16 and under are free. If you want to volunteer at the gate, contact Daniela

Music made by locals all-the-day long. Special Guest band "The Real Ponchos" from Vancouver are the evening headliner. Followed by DJ Promix (Andrew Van der Meer).

During the day there will be multiple food vendors. The communal evening meal will feature local sheep and a vegetarian option.  The taps at the bar will be flowing. Contact Lori Garson at to volunteer for a shift.


On-site activities include Still Life Painting, Sewing challenge/Fashion Show, daytime kids activities with CarlyP, a collaborative art canvas, art making table, face painting by Sophia, and (hopefully) a puppet making station and a theatre for puppet shows and word/story games like Exquisite Corpse and magnetic poetry. 

We are looking for volunteers. Give the festival three or more hours and you are in free! If you want to help make this big fun arty celebration happen, please get in touch with Positions needing to be filled are: volunteer coordinator, lights/ambience/decorating crew to help David and Link, someone to stay on top of water filtration, someone to take charge of recycling and a clean-up crew (we are willing to pay if you have a team).
